Task

Your task is to complete the following: All responses should be typed and turned into the teacher after completion.

Using the resource links answer the following questions.

Question One  -Write four quotes that could be written from the time period and its author. Respond to each quote. Each quote should be two to three sentences in length.

Question Two  - Name three suggested reading resources that are available on the Harlem Renaissance? Are any of your three choices available in our school library? If so which ones are available and what are the call numbers?  

Question Three  -Create a timeline from 1900 to 1940. In each ten year time period you should have at least 5 historical events. In each time written there should be a brief explanation of the event. (Should include a total of 20 events)

Question Four  -Find art work from four (4) featured artist and discuss unique features from the art work. This could include a summary of the work, your own view points, or a comparison to other art work you are familiar.

Question Five  -Find one influential person in the Harlem Renaissance that you would like to meet. Write a letter to that person to discover more about that person's life? The letter should include questions relative to the person's life. The letter should be one page in length.

Question Six  Create a power point presentation in one of the following areas. Literature, music, visual arts, fashion or another area accepted by the teacher. (Group activity) See Evaluation of Power Pt. for Rubric.

• Must include at least 8 slides
• Must include at least one picture from the internet
• Everyone in the group must have a speaking part.
• At least one slide must identify a person who was influential in your topic.
• Presentation must be appealing to the eye
